Hello friends. I’ve decided to re-enter the world of blogs. Why? I really don’t know. Mainly, I was just tired of my boring site. I’ll be working on this trying to make it cooler. Here’s something I wrote to kick this off.

In the Distance

In the distance lies an unknown object.
Its ambiguity captivates the eye of the beholder
With a force that no power could reject
Until every observable facet has been discovered.

From the distance, it’s the source of great pleasure;
Entertaining thoughts for days and days.
The obscurity has now become a treasure
Sending the mind rampant through a maze

Oh, to transfer the object from the eye to the hand,
To explore it thoroughly to the ends of its being.
This is the end which the senses demand
No other action would be more freeing.

The will has found a way to cross the expanse.
At last, the unknown can become familiar.
The imagination sleeps at the minds first glance.
However, the discoveries are ironically peculiar

The joy vanished as quickly as it had appeared
The seemingly beautiful enigma was nothing as it seemed
If only the image of reality could be cleared
And replaced by that which was dreamed.
