In America we struggle with gluttony. Many other countries struggle with starvation. Shouldn’t there be an easy remedy?

yes, but the solution to fix the problem isn’t one that most americans like.

Good post, Aaron. Right to the point. I guess my own personal diet could help a ton. Perhaps if we Americans only ate what was necessary, the demand for our millions of tons of food would decrease and there would be more to give to starving countries. However, the question is, who would foot the bill?

    well,
i think it is funny that our gluttony is a result of our economics, and as a result of our gluttony we americans have to spend a ton of cash on treadmills. it seems that it would just be alot easier to be poor. (even though a lot of people at the treadmill plant would be unemployed)

A vicious cycle, like Daniel says. The solution, I think, is simple: do what you can. If you think ‘big picture’ like the whole of America, its gonna take a long time to do anything. If you cut back/donate/participate in things that help the problem YOURSELF… then you’re making the solution happen. That’s who foots the bill. Us.
