goodbye july 2

I guess I’m overdue for an update. Here it goes.

I have a beard. I’ve been told I look like Jesus 2 days in a row. Let’s see how long this goes on.

Monday my family is going out to Bloys Camp Meeting in West Texas for my 20th consecutive year. Daniel Foster is going with us so it should be a blast. I think I need the break and the mountains.

After we get back I’ll have one more week of chilling at home and then I’ll be off to school (Aug. 13th to be precise). I look forward to getting back in the swing of things and being around friends.

Until next time.

Tonight I saw Bela Fleck and his acoustic trio perform and it was amazing. Some of the songs almost brought me to tears because they were so well written. So good. Music makes me happy (which involves tears sometimes). I like it when music makes me happy. I wish music always made me happy. I love buying new CDs and not being able to help but smile as I listen.

Every once in a while it’s good to take a look in the mirror. It’s been a while for me. I’m kinda scared.

The concert last night was amazing. He is probably one of the best musicians around right now in my opinion. He played all four movements of Bach’s Sonata in G minor for solo violin and it was so good. He’s on a completely different level of musicianship. Dolly Parton decided to make a guest appearance at the 150 person max venue. Now I can say that I’ve been 20 feet from Dolly Parton. After the show me and Jarrod waited around to talk to Chris and I’m embarassed to say I felt like a little girl, rapid heart rate and all. I’m a dork.

I’m so stoked! Tonight I’m seeing the Wooten Brothers and I have high hopes that Victor will be there (he probably won’t though). This is the really exciting news, Sunday Chris Thile is playing here again and I’ll actually get to go this time because I contacted the guy at the club and he’s gonna let me in! And it just gets better, Nickel Creek is coming to Nashville next Friday and they’re playing their whole new CD, track 1 to track 14. It doesn’t get much better than this.

I worked 9 hours today and it was quite exhausting but it’s all good because I don’t work again until Saturday. Pray for me if you think about it. I’ve been going through some different times in my life. Every choice made either moves you closer to the place you want to be or takes you further from it, making every choice crucial. These days, I’m kinda taking two steps forward and then two back. Thanks guys.

One of the greatest tragedy’s is when someone realizes that the world he’s been living has no resemblence of reality.

But one of the greatest joys is when that fictitious world becomes real.
