Haha, you’re absolutely right, but there are physical limitations to the combustion process. The fuel is the same (more or less); however, engine efficiency can only be improved to a certain point. Venturing beyond that is forbidden by thermodynamics. But still, I see your point. If not 100 mpg, then at least… 50-ish. Heck, anything would be better than what we have now!

I get weak in the knees when I think of how much money is spent on just the gas to move our heavy machines around the battle space. I see countless vehicles every day that, at best, get 8-15 MPG out here in Afghani-land. Good thing I’m not paying for it… wait a minute… DAMN IT!

This very thing has been bugging the heck out of me for the past couple of years. Companies are bragging 30 mpg in their advertising. Volkswagens were getting more than that when my parents were first getting their licenses. Something definitely seems amiss.
